DIR/Floortime Therapy
At Riverside Therapy Center, we use the DIR/Floortime model to support children with autism and other developmental differences. DIR stands for Developmental, Individual differences, and Relationship-based, and it helps us look at the whole child, their growth, unique learning style, and connections with others.
Floortime is the hands-on part: therapists and caregivers join the child in play, following their lead while gently encouraging new communication, problem-solving, and social skills. By meeting children where they are, we help them build confidence, stronger relationships, and lasting progress.
Key Benefits:
-
Builds emotional connection and communication skills
-
Encourages problem-solving through play
-
Tailored to each child’s sensory and developmental needs
-
Strengthens parent-child and caregiver relationships
